" Best thing I ever did for my self. My dentures stay in place and I can eat what ever I want!"
Donald Barnes-Patient 2008
"Greatest investment ever. My health has improved, since I had the implants placed. Dentures don't move and function like they are supposed too! I would highley recommend it!"
Lonna Kelley-Patient 2007
WHAT ARE MINI-DENTAL IMPLANTS?
The MDL system consists of a miniture titanium implant that act like the root of your tooth and a retaining fixture that is incorporated into the base of your denture.
The head of the implant is shaped like a ball, and the retaining fixture acts like a socket that contains a rubber O-ring. The O-ring snaps over the ball when the denture is seated and holds the denture at the predetermined level of force. When seated, the denture gently rests on the gum tissue. The implant fixtures allow for micro-mobility while withstanding natural lifting forces.
HOW ARE MINI-IMPLANTS PLACED?
Placement of the implants is accomplished quickly and easily in a process performed in the dentist's office, with local anesthesia or light sedation to help make you more comfortable. Using a precise, controlled, minimally invasive surgical technique, MDL implants are placed in the jawbone. The heads of the implants protrude from the gum tissue and provide a strong, solid foundation for securing your dentures. It is a one-step procedure that involves minimally invasive surgery, no sutures nor the typical months of healing.
WHAT WILL MY FIRST DAY BE LIKE?
After the placement of the implants and denture, you will leave the denture in place until Dr. Bradford instructs you to remove it, usually you will come back the following day for a check-up. You should not experience any excessive bleeding. There will be some mild discomfort, but this should be minimal and controlled by over the counter pain medications, if needed. The denture should feel secure. You may eat as soon as you wish to, but try to avoid excessively hard or sticky foods for a period of time recommended by Dr. Bradford. Upon removing the denture, rinse your mouth with antiseptic mouthwash and gently clean around each implant fixture with the brush from Dr. Bradford, using toothpaste to clean. This brush has been specifically designed to clean your implants and gently stimulate the surrounding gum tissue.
